Three Tasmanians have earned spots in the VFL and VFLW Teams of the Year, with two more recognised as rising star finalists at the 2026 awards night in Melbourne.
Jed Hagan was named in the VFL Team of the Year as a half forward.
Hugh Dixon and Jye Menzie were both selected as interchange players in the VFL squad.
Grace White earned her place in the VFLW Team of the Year as a half forward and was a finalist for the Debbie Lee Medal as the VFLW rising star.
Brandon Leary was a finalist for the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the VFL’s most promising young player.
Frankston captain Trent Mynott and Geelong Cats midfielder George Stevens tied for the J.J. Liston Trophy as the VFL’s best and fairest, each polling 22 votes.
It was the tenth tie in the award’s history.
Port Melbourne’s Ben Hobbs topped the count with 26 votes but was ineligible after being suspended during the home and away season.
Williamstown star Emily Eaves was crowned the Lambert-Pearce Medal winner as the VFLW’s best and fairest.
Eaves polled 21 votes to edge out Collingwood captain Dom Carbone on 18 votes, with Carlton’s Hannah Scott third on 17.
Her dominance helped steer Williamstown to a first-place finish on the ladder and a spot in the VFLW Grand Final against North Melbourne Werribee at IKON Park on Sunday.
Werribee’s Brady Wright won the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal after booting 49 goals in a breakout season, while Collingwood’s Stella Huxtable claimed the Debbie Lee Medal.
Corey Ellison from Frankston won the VFL leading goalkicker award with 52 goals and Williamstown’s Mia Zielinski took out the VFLW leading goalkicker honour with 32 goals.
