A teenager who sparked a large scale manhunt across Hobart after allegedly evading Police has been arrested this afternoon.
The 19 year old has been charged with one count of unlicensed driving and one count of aggravated evade police.
He will face court at a later date.
EARLIER: A runaway driver has sparked a large manhunt in the Geilston Bay area of Hobart’s eastern shore this afternoon.
The driver, who is believed to be on foot, fled from Police after officers attempted to stop them and the red Mazda 3 they were driving shortly before 3pm.
Police say the driver allegedly evaded officers before abandoning the vehicle, which has since been seized, on Geilston Creek Road.
Anyone with information or sightings of a person that is described as being around 170cm tall with a medium build, brown hair and red cap is asked to contact Police.
