A burst water main has caused water to flood parts of the Hobart CBD for the second time this week.
The 150mm main burst outside 161 Liverpool Street around 4:45am on Saturday morning, TasWater said.
Crews arrived on the scene within 40 minutes to shut off the water supply and begin repairs.
Police this morning said a “large amount of water” was on the road in the area.
Around 10 properties along Liverpool Street are currently without water while the repairs are carried out, which is expected to be complete by midday.
A road closure has been put in place on Liverpool Street between Murray Street and Harrington Street while the repairs are underway.
“We understand some businesses have been impacted by flooding and we have a team on the ground to understand the impact and help where we can,” TasWater’s South Operations Manager Dario Fernandes said.
A burst water main in the same location on Thursday caused flooding on Liverpool Street, inundating three businesses.
