Wild winds have delayed the opening of the Dark Mofo Winter Feast in Hobart this afternoon.
Originally due to open at 4pm, punters were told to wait outside for ‘up to an extra hour’ while winds subsided.
Tasmania is currently under a severe weather warning as damaging winds lash parts of the state, with the BOM warning of possible gusts up to 100km/h.
At 12PM, the BOM said gusts of 80km/h were recorded in Hobart.
The delay comes after Liverpool Street in the CBD was closed for an hour while authorities attended to a wind-damaged building.
UPDATE 4:30 PM: Festival-goers have been let in through the gates after conditions eased.
