A former staff member of a Mornington licensed venue has been charged with robbery after an incident on Sunday night.
The 31-year-old man allegedly entered the venue, hid for around 40 minutes, and stole close to $13,000 in cash before assaulting a staff member during his attempts to flee.
Police say the staff member was not physically injured in the incident.
The man was arrested and charged in Rosny today and will appear in court this evening.
Tasmania Police said the incident was isolated and that there was no threat to the wider community, however the stolen cash has not yet been recovered.
