A large police bust on Flinders Island has led to four individuals being charged for a string of crimes, including drug, firearms and wildlife offences this week.

Acting Inspector Andrew Hanson said officers executed several search warrants while on the island, which lead to a large cannabis crop, along with other drug-related items being located and seized.

“The operation was carried out based on existing intelligence in relation to cannabis cultivation and distribution, with officers also using a police drone to conduct reconnaissance and pinpoint the illegal cannabis crop.”

He says one man will face charges for cannabis cultivation, firearms offences and wildlife offences, while another will be proceeded against for cannabis possession and sales.
