Four teenagers now charged over $150,000 Herdsmans Cove housing development destruction

Two more teenagers have been charged over a smashed housing development in Hobart’s northern suburbs that caused almost $150,000 in damages.

The 14 and 15-year-olds are accused of destroying around $145,000 worth of property at the Herdsmans Cove construction site.

Police allege the pair, along with two other 14-year-olds charged in late May, caused the damage between April and May this year.

The charges include one count of unlawfully destroying property and 28 counts of burglary.

The teenagers charged in May also faced 28 counts of destroy property and 28 charges of burglary.

Both will appear in the Hobart Youth Court at a later date.

“Investigations have now concluded into the matter with all persons responsible accountable for their actions,” police said.

“Bridgewater Police would like to thank the public for their assistance and reassure the local community that incidents of damage and vandalism will not be tolerated.”
