Dog lovers and their furry friends can celebrate National Pet Day at a free community event at Kingston Beach on April 11.
Dog food company Jack & Chelo has partnered with The Salty Dog Hotel to host Dog’s Day Out, bringing together local dog owners for a morning of activities and treats.
The event will feature complimentary treat samples, free Polaroid portraits for pets and owners and a community raffle raising funds for the Dog’s Home of Hobart.
Attendees can also expect dog training insights from Kip Hobart, grooming tips from The Doggy Barber, and the chance to meet Jack & Chelo founder Esther Rupenovic.

Rupenovic said the event is about celebrating the role dogs play in people’s lives while connecting with the local community in a meaningful way.
“Bringing the Hobart dog community together at The Salty Dog allows us to share that passion. It’s going to be a fun morning for a great cause.”

The Salty Dog Hotel’s co-owner Adriano Mignanelli said the venue was excited to host the National Pet Day event.
“We’re all about creating a welcoming space for people and their dogs, so hosting Dog’s Day Out feels like a perfect fit for us,” he said.
“It’s going to be a really special morning for the Hobart dog community.”
The event is promising “thoughtfully designed moments” for dogs and their humans to enjoy together as part of the National Pet Day celebrations.

Attendance is free, but organisers encourage registrations to help plan the morning and secure a free bag of treats at www.events.humanitix.com/dogs-day-out-kingston
