A free community event aimed at getting men talking and connecting will be held in Ulverstone next month as part of National Men’s Health Week.
The Men Care Too North West Mates Collective is hosting a Mates Night on Wednesday, June 10, at the Gnomon Room on Wharf Road.
The evening runs from 6:30pm to 8pm and is designed to encourage conversation and connection in a laid-back, pressure-free setting.
Attendees can expect free pizza, soft drinks and coffee, along with a screening of the short film Attitude – Aidan’s Story.

Local guest speakers will take part in a relaxed chat, and there’ll be lucky door prizes and more than $1,000 in raffle prizes up for grabs.
Organisers say the event isn’t just for men.

“Partners, families, friends, colleagues, support workers and community members are all welcome to come along,” organisers said.
The collective said the night is about creating a safe space where people feel comfortable connecting before they reach crisis point.
It said events like Mates Night help reduce isolation, strengthen community ties and encourage conversations that many people might not otherwise have.
Entry is free, but registrations are encouraged for catering purposes.
