Cars parking in spots reserved for volunteer firefighters are ‘putting lives at risk’, a Tasmanian fire brigade have warned.

In a stern message to Geeveston drivers, the local fire brigade say they have “had enough” of ‘entitled motorists’ parking outside their station.

“This carpark is for volunteer firefighters that may have to respond at any given time to save someone’s life,” the brigade said.

“The firefighters have their own spots in the carpark and we know that when we are responding that’s where we will park because no one else should be parked there!”

The council have installed no standing signs,  as well as a yellow line in the carpark, but the bridge say some people still aren’t getting the message.

“If this happens again the offending vehicles will be towed away at the registered owners expense.”
