A 28-year-old man from Glenorchy has been charged with a string of offences after a number of searches resulted in the recovery of nine stolen motor vehicles and a large quantity of stolen property this week.
The man has been charged with multiple offences of dishonesty, breach of bail and drug-related crimes, which were committed throughout the greater Hobart area.
He has been remanded to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on a later date.
Detective Senior Constable Tim Keenan urged everyone to be vigilant to prevent burglary and to report any suspicious activity to the police.
“Thieves are often opportunistic, and I urge everyone to be vigilant to prevent being a target of burglary and to report any suspicious activity to police on 131 444 or through Crime Stoppers at crimestopperstas.com.au,” he said.
While the majority of the stolen property has been returned, owners are still being sought for a number of items.
“If members of the community believe they are the owner, or know the owner of any of these items, they should contact Hobart CIB on 131 444,” Keenan added.
