A 24-year-old Glenorchy man has been charged with drug trafficking after police allegedly found a kilogram of methylamphetamine inside a garage at a residential property.
The discovery was made during a targeted search carried out by the Tasmania Joint Organised Crime Task Force, with support from Southern Drugs and Firearms officers and the Dog Handlers Unit.
Police allege the man was acting as “a drug courier”.
He was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
He has been granted bail and is set to reappear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in mid-November.
The task force is made up of members from Tasmania Police, the Australian Federal Police and the Australian Border Force.
The arrest forms part of ongoing investigations by the combined agencies into the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in Tasmania.
