A 47-year-old man has been charged after police seized eight firearms, a crossbow and a large amount of ammunition during a raid on a Golden Valley property south of Deloraine today.
Members of the Northern Drugs and Firearms Unit carried out the search warrant on Tuesday with support from Central North Division and the Dog Handler Unit.
Officers found four illegal pistols, three of which were homemade, along with four registered firearms, a crossbow and a large quantity of ammunition at the private address.
The Golden Valley man was arrested and hit with multiple firearms charges.

They include dealing in firearms without a dealer licence, possessing a firearm without the right category of licence, possessing an unregistered firearm and possessing a crossbow.
He is due to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in September.
