Police have declared a rural property in the Central Highlands a crime scene after a man was found dead overnight.
An investigation into the sudden death at Hamilton, around 30 minutes north of New Norfolk, was launched just after 7pm on Thursday night.
Officers were called to the scene and pronounced the man deceased a short time later.
“The man has yet to be formally identified,” a police spokesperson said.
“Police remain at the scene.”
Updated 4:30pm, Friday May 10: The man has since been identified as a 41-year-old from Strahan.
Police say their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death are continuing.
“At this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious,” a spokesperson said on Friday afternoon.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
