Heavily armed police descended on a New Norfolk home this morning after a person sought treatment for a suspected gunshot wound to the foot.
Images shared with Pulse showed the BearCat armoured vehicle at the scene, officers with large firearms drawn and streets cordoned off.
The person was taken to hospital shortly after 10am on Sunday.
A Tasmania Police spokesperson told Pulse officers attended the home “after a person sought medical attention for what is believed to be a firearm-related injury to the foot”.
Despite the size of the response, police said there was no wider threat.

“Police conducted enquiries at the residence this morning and there was no evidence of any risk to the broader public,” the spokesperson said.
“While there is no ongoing activity at the scene, police are continuing to make inquiries into the incident.”
“Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators on 131 444 and quote ESCAD 104-14062026.”
