Police are searching for a missing kayaker who ventured out into waters near Primrose Sands this afternoon.
Concerns are held for the person’s welfare ‘given current conditions and the severe weather warning for abnormally high tides’.

The kayaker was last seen near Primrose Point, wearing a light green high vis life jacket, heading for Smooth Island around 3:15pm.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter is being utilised in the search for the person.
UPDATE: The person has since been located.
