Tasmania sweltered under scorching temperatures today, with Hobart reaching a high of 30.7 degrees.
Despite coming close, Hobart’s hottest day of the year, which was 31.7 degrees on January 14, remains untouched.
Overnight temperatures are also expected to be high, with some locations remaining in the low 20s this evening.
Weather forecasters have also warned of a chance of thunderstorms in certain areas tonight.

Relief is on the way from tomorrow as the hot weather eases with a maximum of 22 degrees and a chance of showers.
The rest of the week is forecast to be cooler, with temperatures ranging from 11-21 degrees and cloudy conditions.
