A building on Elizabeth Street in Hobart has been evacuated after a refrigeration gas leak was detected.
Firefighters were called around 11:30am on Wednesday after a Triple Zero (000) call raised the alarm about a potential fire or gas leak.

Firefighters on scene found what is reported to be a pipe that had released refrigeration gas.
The building was evacuated as a precaution and is now being ventilated.
No injuries have been reported.
Collins Street has been closed while emergency services respond.
“People are asked to avoid the area until further notice,” a police spokesperson said.
The Tasmania Fire Service said further details would be provided when known.
