The owners of a former campervan hire business at Hobart Airport have had to pay $6,000 in penalties after the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) caught them not paying entitlements to a casual cleaner.
McCullagh Enterprises only paid the worker, a Filipino visa holder, the owed $14,060 in entitlements after the FWO started legal proceedings earlier this year.
The FWO issued the Compliance Notice after determining that the worker had been underpaid the minimum wage, overtime, and weekend and public holiday rates owed under the General Retail Industry Award 2010.
