A Hobart City Councillor has expressed her disgust at the current state of the Hobart CBD.

Louise Elliot says overflowing bins, scattered rubbish and knocked over furniture is leaving the area in a ‘state of disarray’ – particularly the mess left behind in the afternoon when cleaning currently ends.

The councillor is calling on the Council to support increasing the cleaning regime in the CBD, and also plans to put forward an action plan to make the CBD more family-friendly at the next council meeting.

She says the plan includes “logical approach” to parenting facilities and transforming the Wellington Court area into a clean and appealing place for families – with modern, architectural play equipment for young people to burn off steam.

“I believe that the community deserves a safe, clean and family friendly city.”
