A Hobart coffee shop has been left with a big clean up job after a woman allegedly broke in and trashed the store last night.

Police say the 39-year-old thief was arrested near the Pilgram Coffee Store on Liverpool Street around 6:45pm.

Owner Will Priestly told the Mercury the woman “even went as far to urinate on the floors and pour detergent through the electronics”.

“They left the $30,000 coffee machines alone, but stole the float, electronics, soft drinks and alcohol. It’s really not ideal,” he said.

She will appear in court today charged with burglary, stealing and destroy property.

Pilgrim hope to reopen the coffee shop on Wednesday.
