“The Nationals and I are an ideal fit,” Elliot said.

“The Nationals are the party of liberty, enterprise, empowerment, national pride and freedom of speech and association.”

The Nationals failed to win any seats in the July 19 state election

Tasmanian Nationals State Secretary Christine Ferguson welcomed Elliot to the party.

“Louise has shown that she has the strength and passion needed to stand up for regional communities,” Ferguson said.

“She works hard to ensure that everyday Tasmanians are represented and that common sense applies.”

“Tasmania is regional. Our capital is regional. We are a small state but we can pack a powerful punch and deserve to be treated fairly, like our big city friends.”
