The man behind some of Tasmania’s biggest live music events, including tours by Flume and the Hoodoo Gurus, has fronted a Hobart court accused of trafficking cocaine.
Brendan Fagan Self, 49, appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Thursday over allegations he trafficked the drug between September 13 and 18, 2025.
The Battery Point man is also charged with possessing a controlled plant.
Self is the managing director of Vandemonian Touring, which has brought acts including Flume, Tones and I, the Hoodoo Gurus and the Corrs to Tasmania.
The company also ran the Uni Bar at the University of Tasmania’s Sandy Bay campus until it closed in 2025 and stages the annual Tasmanian Wine Festival.
Defence lawyer Pip Monk asked Magistrate Reg Marron to adjourn the case without a plea.
She told the court her client had received some material from prosecutors, including seizure records, photographs and search warrants, but said it fell well short of full disclosure.
Prosecutors said the brief against Self was extensive and more was expected from police.
Marron adjourned the matter to July 21.
Self first appeared on the charges in February.
