A man from Orford has been charged with attempted carjacking after an incident in Mornington over the weekend.
Police allege the 32-year-old was a passenger in a ride share vehicle when he “assaulted the driver and attempted to take the vehicle” at around 11pm on Saturday.

The man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
He has since been charged with several offences including attempted carjacking and common assault.
The ride share driver was not physically injured during the incident.
The man appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Sunday.
