Hobart school mourns loss of “lovely lady” Leesa Baker

The school community of Dominic College are remembering their beloved teacher assistant Leesa Baker, who passed away surrounded by loved ones last night.

Dozens of school students and parents have taken to social media this afternoon to share their memories of “a truly beautiful person” who made a positive impact “on so many lives”.

“This is so sad! My thoughts are with Leesas family! The most kindest beautiful heart I’ve ever met! You helped my little girl in kinder and for that we will be forever grateful! RIP beautiful lady & thank you,” said one parent.

“Leesa was such a beautiful person, who made such an impact on all those who met her,” commented another.

Leesa was a much loved member of the Hobart basketball community, with Swisherr Hoops Academy sharing their memories of Baker on Facebook today.

“She was a tireless volunteer, a club leader and innovator and an amazing basketball mum”.

“It is people like Leesa – who give so much and ask for so little – that make our community work and thrive,” Swisherr stated.
