Hobart’s Bass In The Domain festival loses headliner The Jungle Giants after vehicle crash

Hobart’s Bass In The Domain music festival has been dealt a blow after the headlining act, The Jungle Giants, was forced to pull out.

The band announced the last-minute decision on social media on Friday afternoon after singer Sam Hales was involved in a motor vehicle accident.

They assured fans that Hales is “doing okay” after undergoing surgery.

“Unfortunately we won’t be able to perform for you all as Sam has been involved in a motor accident,” the post read.

“He’s doing okay and has just come out of a surgery that will hopefully help him be back in action soon.”

The band said they understand the disappointment among festival goers, adding that the incident unfolded over the last 48 hours.

“There is some good news, as Cesira, Keelan and Dooris are there and keen to hoon so have packed USBs and will be throwing down a DJ set for y’all,” the post continued.

They said that Bass In The Domain staff are on-hand to respond to refund requests.

The Saturday festival will still feature nine other acts, including Teenage Dads, Old Mervs, DICE, Juno, Lasca Dry, Bonsai, Lauren Yates and Sam McMeekin.
