Wellington Court in the Hobart CBD is experiencing a vibrant transformation as it hosts Back Street Week, a week-long celebration of music and entertainment, in honor of Main Streets of Australia Week.
The courtyard is set to host a lineup of live music performances from 12pm to 2pm every day until Friday this week.
The event will showcase renowned Hobart favorites such as Hugo Bladel, Southside Steppers, Billy Whitton Duo, and Emily Wolfe.
The highlight of the festivities is expected to be on Friday, when a range of performers, including a roving big band, circus acts and DJs take the stage to captivate the crowd.
Local businesses will extend their hours into the evening, and a mobile drink stall will be available.
Wellington Court has undergone a massive visual makeover for the event, featuring vibrant colors and graphic paste-ups that celebrate Hobart street art.
Additional seating will be provided to create a ‘relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere’ where people can eat, have a drink and appreciate the city’s charm.
