Police are investigating after shots were fired at a house in Old Beach in Hobart’s Northern suburbs last night.
The incident, which is believed to be targeted, involved a firearm being discharged towards a residence from a moving vehicle on Tandara Court.
Shortly after the incident the vehicle, a stolen Ford Courier was found abandoned and on fire on nearby Otago Bay Road.
No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.
“Understandably this incident will be concerning to the local community. I’d like to assure residents in the area that police believe this incident was targeted, and there was no threat to the wider community,” said Inspector Troy Morrisby.
“Police are investigating and take all instances of firearm discharge seriously.”
“I ask anyone with information in relation to the firearms discharge, or the fire at Otago Bay Road, to come forward.”
