As Dark Mofo takes a hiatus this year, Darklab organisers have unveiled their plans for keeping people entertained this winter without their main event.

Darklab, a subsidiary of MONA, have announced the first details of their ‘Midwinter’ program, giving Tasmanians and tourists making the trek to the state something to look forward to.

Midwinter will feature music concerts, MONA exhibitions and the traditional Winter Feast at PW1.

Australian alternative rap artist Genesis Owusu, known for his songs Leaving The Light and Get Inspired, is set to take the stage at the Odeon on June 15, while an evening with Kiwi singer-songwriter Marlon Williams will fill the venue on June 16.

The Tasmanian visit will mark the New Zealand sensation’s first solo tour in Australia in almost ten years after recent appearances in Later with Jools Holland and starring alongside Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born.

Darklab say they’re looking forward to making more announcements for the Midwinter festival.
