Thieves have stolen “several hundred litres” of diesel from a property near Oatlands in Tasmania’s Midlands overnight.
Police say offenders broke into the rural property and targeted a storage trailer containing fuel between 5pm Thursday and 6:30am Friday.

Investigators are appealing for information from anyone who noticed suspicious activity on Interlaken Road, near the Midland Highway.
Tasmania Police urged property owners to secure fuel supplies.
“Storing vehicles, tools and fuel cells [or] tanks in secure buildings or in areas with high visibility or CCTV coverage can discourage opportunistic or targeted theft,” police said.
