A young man, understood to be from one of the racing yachts docked in Hobart, has been taken into custody after he allegedly broke into a waterfront shop overnight.
The 20-year-old reportedly knocked down the door of Fish Frenzy on the Elizabeth Street Pier around 2am this morning before allegedly stealing ice creams from the freezer.

Police have confirmed the incident and said officers are investigating reports of a burglary at the waterfront business.
The man is assisting police with their inquiries and is expected to be charged later today.
