A young Hobart learner driver who was caught riding at 150km/h on the Brooker Highway told police he was ‘in a rush’ to get home.
The motorcyclist, while overtaking vehicles and weaving through traffic on the highway, was clocked at 150km/h in an 80km/h zone by Police in an unmarked car on February 1 at 11:30pm.

He was later tracked down at his residence, where he told police he was listening to music and was unaware they had tried to pull him over.
During a court appearance the rider pleaded guilty to exceeding the speed limit, which violated his motorcycle learner licence or P1 provisional licence.
As a result, he was fined $1121, received six demerit points and was disqualified from driving for four months.
