Three men have been arrested after ram-raiding a tool store with a stolen ute in Launceston’s north overnight.
After allegedly stealing the red Mazda from a Prospect address, Acting Detective Inspector Andrew Hanson said the trio then committed a series of burglaries – targeting brand new power tools – across the city.
Hanson said the offenders then used the vehicle to drive “through the front of one of the targeted” Invermay businesses.
“Police arrested the three men in bushland near Mayfield about 5am, when the stolen car, which had been set alight, was located.”
“Police then executed a search warrant and recovered the stolen items in Rocherlea.”
All of the stolen property has since been returned to its rightful owners.
The three men are now facing multiple charges, including motor vehicle stealing, burglaries, stealing and other offences.
