Tasmania Police are continuing their investigation into the death of a man found seriously injured on a New Town street in early September.
The man in his 50s was found unconscious lying on Swanston Street around 2:50am on September 6 with serious injuries to his torso and neck.
He was rushed to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a critical condition and later died as a result of his injuries.
A police spokesperson told Pulse that “investigations into the matter are ongoing”.
“Due to the complexities of the case, it is anticipated the investigation will take some time,” they said.
“If anyone has information about the matter and they haven’t already spoken to police, they are asked to phone 131 444 or report through Crime Stoppers.”
Following the incident, Detective Inspector David Gill said police believe the man was on the road when he was struck by a 4WD vehicle.
A car believed to have been involved in the incident was seized by police shortly after the incident.
Two people who were allegedly in the vehicle at the time were assisting police with their enquiries.
