A woman in her fifties has died after an incident involving a vehicle in the middle of Ulverstone this morning.
The 55-year-old was found lying unresponsive on the road at the intersection of Victoria and Reibey streets around 6am on Monday.
Police said the woman was given medical assistance but was unable to be revived and passed away at the scene.
Initial inquiries indicate that the woman had stopped and gotten out of her vehicle, a Ford Territory, when it began to roll.
Investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident and will prepare a report for the coroner.
“There are no suspicious circumstances,” a spokesperson said.
“Anyone who saw the vehicle in the area around the time is asked to contact Ulverstone Police on 131 444.”
“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones.”
