7HOFM loses top spot in Hobart breakfast radio ratings shake-up

Hit100.9 breakfast hosts Dan and Christie and Triple M breakfast hosts Kaz and Tubes

Hobart’s breakfast radio wars have been shaken up, with Hit100.9 duo Dan Taylor and Christie Hayes dethroning the previously dominant 7HOFM team.

The latest Xtra Insights radio survey shows Dan and Christie surging to first place with a 2.7 point increase to 21.2%, pushing Sarah, Mick and Johnno from 7HOFM off the top breakfast spot.

7HOFM have also lost their spot as the station with Hobart’s most listeners, dropping 16,300 listeners from its previous cumulative audience of 104,000.

Triple M now has the largest audience in the capital with 89,000 listeners, ahead of Hit100.9 and 7HOFM at 88,000 listeners each.

Triple M Hobart’s breakfast team of Kaz McMullen and Andy ‘Tubes’ Taylor climbed 3.2 points to 14.4%, now sitting fourth in the breakfast ratings.

“Kaz & Tubes continue to win over locals with a Breakfast show that is proudly Hobart through and through,” SCA head of Regional Content Blair Woodcock said.

7HOFM was rated Hobart’s most listened-to station overall, with an 18.4% share of the market, ahead of Hit100.9 on 17.6% and Triple M on 15.7%.

7HOFM Content Director Allan Cameron said he was “incredibly proud” of his station’s performance despite the breakfast slot setback.
