Firefighters are currently battling a blaze that is sending thick black smoke across the Lauderdale area.
Locals say the fire appears to be fueled a ‘pile of tyres’ at a nearby property.

The Tasmania Fire Service say the fire is centred around Acton Road near Lauderdale Primary School.
A smoke alert was issued by the TFS, saying “toxic black smoke” could pose a health risk to those nearby.
5PM: The fire is now under control.
