Launceston mayor Matthew Garwood and his partner Michelle Rainbow have welcomed a new baby girl.
Garwood shared the happy news on Monday night, announcing the arrival of daughter Melody Rainbow on Friday June 5.

“Our little family is now complete,” he said.
The couple already have a daughter, Billie, and three dogs at their home in Launceston.
Garwood is a born and raised Launceston local.
The arrival of Melody means the mayor’s household has grown to a family of four, plus their three pups.
The announcement was met with warm wishes from the Launceston community on his social media post.
