‘Challenging conditions’ still to come as LawConnect takes out Line Honours in 2033 Sydney to Hobart

LawConnect has won line honours in the 2023 Sydney to Hobart yacht race.

LawConnect crossed the finishing line just 11 seconds before Comanche, overtaking them in the final minutes of the race.

The race between the two supermaxis is one of the closest finishes in recent years.

It’s the first daylight finish in recent years, with spectators gathering to witness the intense battle between the two yachts.

LawConnect’s finish time was 1 day, 19 hours, 3 minutes and 58 seconds, with Andoo Comanche just 51 seconds behind.

Yacht owner Christian Beck described the win as a dream come true.

The Bureau of Meteorology say the rest of the fleet can expect “challenging conditions” as winds increase today.

The race has been brutal, with a man overboard incident, stormy seas, damaged yachts and rapid wind changes.

Eleven boats have retired so far, including race favorite SHK Scallywag.
