A drunk 24-year-old learner driver who was stopped by police in an unregistered vehicle this morning has been charged and disqualified for two years.
Police say the incident occurred during ‘targeted patrols’ around 5am this morning, when officers intercepted the learner who did not have a fully licensed driver with him as required by law.
“The learner driver returned a result of 0.0158 and was charged with high range drink driving.”
“He was also charged with being an unaccompanied learner driver, using an unregistered motor vehicle and using a motor vehicle with no premium cover.”
“Tasmania Police will continue to conduct high visibility and covert patrols over the Easter break with targeted operations occurring anywhere, at any time.”
