The Liberal Party has revealed its Clark team ahead of the state election, naming seven candidates ranging from sitting MPs to a local butcher and a former defence force member.
Jeremy Rockliff launched the southern line-up in Hobart on Thursday, with incumbent MPs Madeleine Ogilvie and Simon Behrakis joined by five other candidates.
Among them is Marcus Vermey, a Sandy Bay butcher who Rockliff said brings practical small business experience to the team.
Vermey recently contested the Legislative Council seat of Nelson, but was defeated by sitting MLC Meg Webb.
Marilena Di Florio, a former Australian Defence Force member, spent 17 years in Tasmania’s health department before deciding to enter politics.

Rockliff said her military background showed “she knows what it takes to perform under pressure”.
Also standing are David Wan, Edwin Johnstone and Jess Barnett.
Johnstone is a small business advocate and chairs the Confederation of Greater Hobart Business, while Wan and Barnett are focused on issues facing younger Tasmanians.
“David and Jess are both enthusiastic advocates for the needs and future of all young Tasmanians,” Rockliff said.
The Clark announcement completes the Liberals’ statewide slate of 35 candidates as they look to hold onto government.

“The Tasmanian Liberal team have a very clear plan. We are committed to Tasmania and we’re getting on with a job. We were elected to do a job back in March 2024 and now we’re going to finish the job,” Rockliff said.
“Can I thank each and every one of our candidates for their courage, their commitment and their passion for Tasmania, which comes through in spades.”
