A thunderstorm is moving across Tasmania’s rural north-east, with hundreds of bolts striking areas near Derby and Pyengana this morning.
The storm is moving north towards Cape Barren Island, passing over Tomahawk and Mussleroe Bay along the way.

The Bureau of Meteorology says thunderstorms are expected to linger across the morning in the north, before easing into the afternoon.
Temperatures are sitting around 19 degrees in Scottsdale and Eddystone point this morning, with a maximum of 24 degrees forecast.
Storms aren’t expected to develop around any of Tasmania’s major cities today.
