Recent findings by PRD have revealed the most liveable and affordable suburbs for renters in Hobart.
The analysis took into account factors such as lower median rental prices compared to the city, availability of rental properties and lifestyle amenities.
For houses, the top suburbs were Warrane, Glenorchy and Mount Nelson – with median rents of $500, $520 and $550 per week.
For units, Mount Nelson, New Town and Bellerive were the top suburbs – with median rents of $400, $435 and $450 per week.
The report also revealed that Hobart’s rent to income ratio is 29.9% for houses and 25.2% for units, which is lower than other Australian cities but slightly up from last year.
Liveability criteria scrutinised in the report included low crime rates, access to green spaces, efficient public transport, convenient shopping options, quality healthcare services and employment rates either in line with or exceeding the state average.
