A popular Sandy Bay restaurant has taken to social media to shame a “tip money thief” after their business was targeted.
Don Camillo Restaurant shared images of the incident, showing the unidentified person allegedly swiping cash from a bowl on the counter on Thursday.
“Just a friendly reminder to keep an eye out for this character,” the restaurant wrote.
“And don’t worry, if we catch him, my Dad’s already got the concrete boots ready…just like his old mafia days,” they joked.
“Let’s keep our community safe and support each other. Stay vigilant!”
A spokesperson for Tasmania Police told Pulse the incident is currently under investigation.
“Police remind business owners to remain vigilant against opportunist theft,” the spokesperson said.
“It is recommended to not leave a premises unattended when open, not leave valuables in plain sight and consider the installation of CCTV cameras.”
