Tasmanian Singer Tyler Richardson has traded the stage for the green, participating in Lifeline’s annual fundraising golf day at Royal Hobart.
Richardson, who has “absolute zero” golfing experience, admitted he had to borrow a polo shirt from his neighbour for the occasion.
“I’m a bit of a putt-putt man sometimes, I don’t mind that,” he told WIN News.
As Lifeline’s first ambassador, Richardson said the event is a great opportunity to raise awareness about the critical service and support mental health initiatives.

“Lifeline’s cause is so close to me,” he said. “The things that it does has touched my life in so many ways and those that I know and love too.”
“A lot of Tasmanians experience isolation and loneliness and Lifeline services can be that vital link.”

All funds raised will stay in Tasmania and go towards a range of suicide prevention programs.
“People never know when they’re going to be in their darkest hour,” Lifeline Tasmania’s Ben Fisher said.
“They never know when they might be in that place where they don’t think there’s any other way out.”
“And to know that 131 114 is there and we’ve got volunteers on the phone to support those people is huge.”
