A man has been charged over a deliberately lit house fire that left a family dog with serious burns last month.
Emergency services were called to the blaze, which completely destroyed the public housing unit off Wattle Street, around 2:30pm on Thursday 13 July.

The 42-year-old man will appear in the court in September charged with arson.
The Tasmania Fire Service pulled two dogs alive from the burning building, but one, a puppy named Zelda, suffered burns to ’40-50% of her body’.
The 8-month-old Staffordshire Terrier has since retuned home after receiving “round-the-clock attention” due to her smoke inhalation and burns at the Animal Emergency Service Vet in Derwent Park.
