A man has been charged with assault following a “targeted incident” at a pub in Tasmania’s north-west over the weekend.
The 53-year-old from Spreyton is alleged to have crashed his car into the front area of a licensed premises in Forth around 6:50pm on Saturday night.
Police say officers were called to the Leith Road business shortly after following a verbal altercation between the driver and two patrons.
One person sustained minor injuries and was transported to the North West Regional Hospital.
The driver fled the scene before police arrived and was later taken into custody on Sunday night.
He is facing charges of two counts of assault under the criminal code and one count of property damage.
He has been granted bail and is scheduled to appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court in March.
