Man dies after being hit by vehicle in Wynyard on Saturday night

A 57-year-old man has died after he was hit by a vehicle at Wynyard, in Tasmania’s north-west, overnight.

He was struck on Moore Street, east of the township, around 10pm on Saturday.

Police said no other vehicles were involved.

Moore Street remains closed while police examine the scene.

“Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing,” a police spokesperson said.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones.”

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
