A man has died in a serious long weekend crash in Tasmania’s north-east early this morning.
Police and emergency services were called to the incident on Tomahawk Road around 5:10am on Monday.
The 58-year-old man is believed to have been the only person in the Ford ute when it veered off the road and rolled.
The road remains closed and traffic is being diverted away from the scene.
“Anyone with information or relevant dash cam footage of the vehicle travelling in the area beforehand is asked to contact police on 131 444,” a spokesperson said.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones. A report will be prepared for the coroner.”
The man is the second person to lose his life on the state’s roads in the last four days after a young tourist was killed in a crash near Poatina on Friday.
