A 38-year-old man is being extradited from Queensland to Tasmania over a child sexual abuse charge today.
Detectives from the Northern Criminal Investigation Branch’s Victims Unit have travelled to Townsville to bring the man back to Tasmania over charges relating to alleged crimes committed in Tasmania between 2018 and 2022.

The accused is remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Launceston Magistrates Court on 27 March 2023 on the charge of Persistent Sexual Abuse of a Young Person.
